America is at a crossroads. Where we go from here will be determined by those who engage in our system of governance, or those who choose to do nothing. There is something very, very wrong. We all feel it, but most of us can't put our finger on it. Democrats, Republicans, Independents, Libertarians,etc. it makes no difference. We all understand the party's do not represent us, our leaders do not represent us, the media sometimes works hand in hand with our elected officials when deciding what to report on....What few of us fail to realize is our role in the decline of America. We have a system of governance already in place that allows THE PEOPLE to control it. So many of us think we don't have that power. I am here to tell you that YOU do. 
While the main stream media focuses mostly on the federal level of government and local media covers what they can of state/local government, it is up to citizens to figure out the rest. While the majority of people focus on the federal level of government where they have almost ZERO influence, the local scene is where WE have all the power but is often neglected. I hope to change that by reporting on any/all things local. This will be a journey for truth with the goal of motivating the citizens of the Memphis & Shelby County to engage in their community and restore the citizens role in the governmental process. Special interests, lobbyists, Corporations & others now hold too much power in our government. Citizens with or without money, with or without status, with or without power hold the keys to change. The passion of one determined citizen can overcome any amount of money trying to sway the legislature, imagine the power of 50 determined citizens or 100....

Don't think the local scene is interesting? Well, then you haven't seen the latest episode of Keeping up With the Councilmen/Commissioners....it's much more exciting than you think and it can often steal money from your pocket in a single vote....see property tax increase from last year's budget.

Information is power, but only if you act on it.
