An investigation into where County Commissioner Justin Ford lives has found that he “probably” lives at 638 Tulane Cove in Whitehaven, which is inside the district he represents, according to the county attorney.
Ford, who could not be reached for comment, has leased the apartment since 2010 when he was elected to the District 3, Position 3 seat and has listed the address on election and campaign disclosure forms and county human resource documents.
However, utilities there were disconnected in December 2011 but were reconnected June 30, the county’s report said.
“We said that’s suspect, whether a person would live under those kind of conditions for two years. He told us it was because of financial hardships,” said Marcy Ingram, county attorney.
And, the report from her office said, there is not enough evidence to “make a finding of fact” that Ford lives outside of his district.
